What is a lottery?

A lottery is a random selection process used to ensure that students have an equal chance of being admitted. A lottery is required if there are more applicants than there are open seats in each class.  

After seats are filled for each class, the lottery will continue to establish waitlist order for the remaining students. Parents will then be notified when a seat opens up.

How to view the virtual lottery

The virtual lottery for school year 2021-22' will be held via Google live stream on May 18th, 2021. The event begins after school at 4:00pm.

Student applicants for open seats at both PODER Academy (K-5) AND PODER Secondary (6-12) will be selected randomly.
