Classrooms are well-managed and the students are focused. The goal is to maximize classroom hours and prepare students for a professional mindset.
We believe that a well-managed classroom is a key to success. Our staff is highly-skilled in the science of classroom management. Instructional time is maximized as teachers correct disruptive behavior at the root. Consistent expectations are reinforced each day as students get into a routine. Their attention span then grows over time.
The result is more academic progression. The science of classroom management is a key driver of high performing schools.
"If our American way of life fails the child, it fails us all."
- Pearl S. Buck
PODER is one of the few schools to offer an extended day program where students are dismissed at 4:00pm, and where tutoring and extra-curricular clubs take place until 5:00pm. The extra time provides a structured environment for students between the hours of 3:00pm and 5:00pm. This is a common window of unsupervised time for students with working parents.
