The school adheres to a belief that the road to college begins in the early days of elementary where students develop the work ethic and discipline needed to achieve academic success.
Students as young as kindergarten age learn how to maintain good study habits, manage their time, and recognize the appropriate time and place for certain behavior.
High expectations are set from Day 1
The expectations of life depend upon diligence; the mechanic that would perfect his work must first sharpen his tools.
The mission is to ensure that students are performing at or above grade level, and have the proper foundation to move through the upper grades and succeed at a college level. To achieve this, the school has developed an effective model that puts an emphasis on the core areas of reading, writing, science, and math.
Last but not least, a strong and demanding school culture lies at the heart of the school's mission, and is a key ingredient to our success.

Getting kids to sit still and study may be the obvious approach to improving classroom learning, but PODER doesn’t stop at the classroom.
PODER Academy is one of the few academies across the country that includes chess in their curriculum. It's a game of skill and requires students to think outside of the box.
