We start with the basics...

Students learn how each chess-piece moves, how many points they are worth, and how to checkmate. Students then learn advanced strategies as they practice during the week, all year around, until they are able to compete on a national level.

The game of chess serves to increase the attention span and goes hand-in-hand with academic success. Our goal is to give students the mental edge needed to excel in high school, college, and beyond...

Chess Tournaments

There will be opportunities to compete in chess tournaments held in-school and around the region. A delegation of students has been sent to compete at Chess Nationals in Nashville, TN. Our goal is produce some of the best chess players in the nation.
